You could use a URLrewriter rule to handle the redirect.

Or, if the issue is in the 404 page (broken images) use relative path to the images

Hi,

I have a problem I'm hoping I can find some assistance with.  On a site I manage we have some of the content in sub-folders.  Our custom error page works great for mis-typed URL's in the root but when they occur from the down-level, the error page is broken (formattng/images).  How can I fix this?

Running IIS 6.0

Do you mean to have IIS show a directory contents instead of a content page.  Hence, not use default.htm or default.aspx but rather show all the files listed in a directory?  If that is the case you can select "Directory Browsing" and it will display all files in a directory if there is not a default document present.

In vista you need to open control pannel and find (programs / windows feature) Then you turn on the IIS feature.

If you install community server be sure to get the latest version. 

Your last question on .NET 2.0 apps running on IIS 7 and vista.  They do, I would just recommend testing before you port those applications over.  The items I have seen cause trouble are older .asp applications and .NET apps that use custom 3rd party controls or resources.
