I think everyone on the team was familiar with wordpress and what is needed customize and use it. It was a simple decision to use it as the system for the many extra features is provided us. Community server is a great product. It seemed to be more of a chore for us to keep up with features and work-arounds than just using the system. It may be more of a tool than we needed.
